Long before the dawn of western civilization, a nomadic people from northern Africa set out to seed a new world. In their search, they came across a land of peace and plenty - a secluded valley set in the crater of a dormant volcano. The gold they mined brought them great riches and they grew and prospered. As a token of their esteem for their king, whose generosity had become known the length and breadth of Africa, they bolt a mighty place.
Peace, however, was short-lived, and a terrible earthquake des- toyed their homes, aqueducts, fields and nine shafts, forcing the inhabitants to flee their idyllic valley. After this turmoil, all that survived was the king's mighty place. Vegetation then slowly concealed the ruins until all that remained were memories until 1991, that is, when the Lost City was "rediscovered" at Sun City.
Incredible though the legend may seem, it is not nearly so amazing as the reality! Now the spectacular domes, towers and colonnades of The Palace rice above the lakes and forests of ancient Africa, forming the centerpiece of one of the world's most exciting, imaginative and luxurious resorts. The income- arable gardens - through which winding paths meander past rushing streams, tumbling cascades and tranquil pools - cover over 25 hectares and contain more than 1.6 million trees, plants and shrubs. There is a vast pool featuring near-vertical water slides plunging 100 meters, two-meter high waves and a pure white sand beach, as well as a whole range of other sporting facilities. Less than two hours' drive from Johannesburg. Sun City offers Fine hotels, superb sports facilities and great entertainment in a uniquely exciting environment.
And when the sun goes down the entertainment continues - in the casino, discotheque, restaurants, cinemas and theatrical extravaganzas.
