South Africa's mix of races, cultures, scenery, wildlife and entertainment makes it one of the world's most intriguing holiday destinations. Its population of nearly 40 million is made up of four major ethnic groups: 11 different African tribes: Asians of Indian, Pakistani, Chinese and Malay origins: English: African's-speaking white people, descendants of early European settlers and South Africans of mixed descent. Such variety leads to a rich diversity in every aspect of life - language, food, art, music, dance, dress, religion, social systems, customs and traditions.
The country's topography is equally diverse. The central plateaus sighed contains grassy plains, k whilst the lower slopes, the bushveld, have savannah and reverie forests. Mountains including the most awesome peaks in Africa ring the plateau.
Fringing the mountains is the coastal rim, where farms and vineyards extend to the spectacular coastline of rocky coves wide, sandy beaches. Climate too, varies form Mediterranean in the Cape to sub-tropical in kea-Zulu Natal and from the dry Nimbi Desert to the summer downpours of the Gating plateau.
Whether your ideal holiday is a Fly-In or Self-Drive safari through one of South Africans garnet reserves, dancing the night away in sophisticated Sandston, exploring the many facilities at Sun City, taking our Free-wheeling Self-Drive holiday along The Garden Route, to the vineyards of the Pearl
valley. We recommend self-drive car hire as a good way to see South Africa
.
