Melbourne To Adelaide

Day
1: Melbourne to Apollo bay (120 kilometers)
After collecting your car from the most convenient Budget Car Rental office, you head out of Melbourne along the Princes Freeway to Geelong and Queenscliff, an attractive town whose 19th century fort massively guards the treacherous entrance to port Phillip Bay. You route then takes you to Torquay, Victoria's surfing center, through the town ship of Anglesea, Aireys Inlet and Lorne, following the great Ocean Road, which hugs the rugged coastline to Apollo Bay. Overnight in Apollo Bay.
Day 2: Apollo Bay to Port Fairy (200 kilometers)
Leaving on great Ocean Road, head for Cape Otway with its thick forest, waterfalls, and native animals an spectacular views of the coast before continuing on the Leavers hills and the limestone cliffs of the Shipwreck Coast, where the rocks have been carved into extraordinary shapes by the pounding sea. The road the passes through wetland and estuaries, to warnambool- once a whaling center- and on port fairy, one of Victoria's first fishing port. Over in port Fairy.
Day 3: Port Fairy to Grampians National Park (270 kilometer)
Turning north the roads takes you to Dunkeld, from you travel through the wildly beautiful scenery of the Grampians. Highlights of the parks include mount Victoria Lookout, McKenzie falls and the Brambuk Living cultural Center with informative display of Aboriginal art and culture. Over night at Hall Gaps.
Day 4: Hall Gaps to Penola (270 kilometer)
Continuing north to Horsham, then west along the Wimmera Highway past Mount Arapiles-Tooan state park, a premier rock-climbing site and into South Australia. Pause at Naracoorte's World Heritage- listed site where there are limestone walls and prehistoric fossils, before continuing to Penola, via the Bool Lagoon Bird Sanctuary and the wineries of Coonawarra. Overnight at Penola.
Day 5: Penola to Adelaide (423kilometeres)
Driving west from Penola you reach the coast at Robe, a historic town wit superb beaches, before following the cost line north to the old fishing port of Kingston, through Coorong National park and game reserve. On to Wellington, Starthalbyn and through the Adelaide Hills to Hahndorf, a quaint town Established by German settlers. Pause at on of the lookouts in the mount Lofty range for a superb view of the city before returning your car to the convenient Budget office.
Please note this journey can be made in the reverse direction.

Melbourne to Sydney

Day 1: Melbourne to Bright (312 kilometers)
Collect your car from your nearest budget Car rental office and head north towards Glenrowan, sence of Ned Kelly's last stand, and past mountain Buffalo national Park-a 1,00-meter high plateau carpeted with wildflowers in the spring and a popular area of bushwalking- to Bright, whose peaceful atmosphere, enhanced by oak and maple trees, believes its violent gold rush origins. Overnight in Bright.
Day 2: Bright to Cooma (500 kilometers)
Skirt the Alpine National Park before turning north towards Lake Hume, passing through Australia's richest farming land. Crossing into New South Wales at Albury and continue north until turning in to the Snowy Mountains highway which passes through some of the state's most dramatic scenery. Perhaps pause at Tumut, a Timber town famous for its-May time festival of Falling Leaves, before running through more gentle country to Cooma. Over night in Cooma.
Day 3: Cooma to Canberra (115 kilometers) Today's leisurely journey up the Monaro Highway takes you to Canberra; Australia's political, diplomatic and administrative capital. Purpose built-at the time of federation neither Melbourne or Sydney would give to the other, so a new capital was required- the entire city was planned by an American architect, Walter Burley-Griffin, whose showcase street layout and architecture contribute to the overall elegance. The best time to visit Canberra is spring and autumn - the summers are very hot and the winters cold. Try to find time to visit Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, which has comprehensive flora and fauna, and the National Botanical Gardens with its vast range of plants. Overnight in Canberra.
Day 4: Canberra to Sydney (290 kilometers) Travel through Gulborn, a long-established community with some fine Georgian houses, whose prosperity has been built on farming wheat, potatoes, livestock and wool. Further down the valley is Berrima, a tiny village preserved just as it was some 150 years ago, whose sandstone buildings now house antique and crafts galleries. From hear it's a short run to Sydney and if you can - spare some time to drive around the attractive city before returning your car to a convenient Budget office.
