This comprehensive tour features northern India s most famous sights - including Delhi , the capital of the world s most populous democracy, the ethereal beauty of the Taj mahal , the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri and the wondeful architecture of Jaipur .
Day 1 : Arrive at Delhi s Indira Gandhi International airport and transfer to your chosen hotel . An afternoon tour will introduce you to Old Delhi and includes a vivsit to the Red Fort, Raj Ghat , Jama Masjid-one of the largest and most impressive mosque in India- and Chandni Chowk market.
Day 2 : In the morning see new Delhi s impressive government building and spacious parks, Humayun s Tomb ( which served as a model for the Taj Mahal), the 800-year old Qutab Minar , and drive along Rajpath to the imposing India Gate and parliament House . The remainder of the day is spent at leisure .
Day 3 : Depart for Agra by car .In the afternoon you explore the mediaeval city and the 17th century architectural masterpiece, the Taj Mahal - perhaps one of the world s most magnificent buildings . Afterwareds, you visit Agra Fort, whose red sandstone ramparts overlook a bend in the Yamuna River, and you can investigate the bargains in the local bazaar .
Day 4 : Depart for Jaipur by car , en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri , Emperor Akbar s deserted capital , where a variety of regional Indian styles combing with central Asian and Persian influences to create a unique architecteural heritage virtually untouched by over four centuries since its construction .
Day 5 : In the morning visit Jaipur s Amber Fort - where you can take an elephant ride before exploring the fort s massive gateways, shaded courts, sweeping stairways and pillared pavilions- and the Sheesh Mahal, its walls inlaid with exquisite . In the afternoon tour the city of Jaipur, visiting the museum and the Palace of winds .
Day 6 : Depart for Delhi by car where, after checking in to your chosen hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure .
Day 7 : Transfer to the airport for return flight .

If you wish to extend your journey further into Rajasthan and discover Udaipur- city of lakes, palaces and fountains and hisoric Jodhpur , a three-day extention tour is avilable from Jaipur , commencing from Day 6 of the Golden Triangle tour .
Day 6 : Depart by air for Jodhpur , once a princely state in Rajasthan and home to the Rathore rulers, Check-in to your hotel .In the early afternoon depart for a city tour which includes a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha (after whom the city is named) . The fort is intricately adorned with long carved panels and latticed windows of exquisite desing in red sandstone . Visit the Jaswant Thade, an imposing white marble monument build to commemorate the act of bravery and generosity of the rulers in the 19th century .Overnight at your hotel in Jodhpur .(B)
Day 7: After breakfast depart by road for Udaipur En route visit the Ranakpur temples which are approximately 167 kilometres from Jodhpur. See the famous quadruple Jain temple dedicated to Adinath which has 80 domes and 400 pillars . Continue to Udaipur and spend the rest of the evening at leisure . Overnight at your hotel in Udaipur .(B)
Day 8 : In the morning you take a city tour of Udaipur with its beautiful lakes, palaces and fountains. In the shadows of the surrounding dark green hills, Udaipur s three lakes - Pichola, Fateh Segar and Udai Segar stand like shimmering jewels from which rise fairytale marble palaces .
Mabaraja Udia Singh had once sought shelter from the Moghuls here and then endeavoured to fation a city in the valley . Visit the City Palace Museum , intricately designed in granite , marble and mosaic with white filigreed balconies and windows , ornate arches and cupolas atop magnificent octagonal towers . The tour continues to the Jagdish Temple, built in 1651, and "Sahelion ki Bari" , a spectacular garden displaying the unque lifestyle of the royal ladies who once lived in the palaces . Return to your hotel and overnight in Udaipur .(B)
Day 9 : In the morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to Delhi .

RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK
3 days / 2 nights - Extension Tour

For those with a penchant for wildlife the Ranthambore National Park ,once the scene of royal hunting parties, is the palce to head to .Today , it is famous for its tigers and others endangred species . The park covers an area of 392 square kilometres and is set between the Aravali and Vindhya mountain ranges . Its deciduous forest were once a part of the magnificent jungles of Central India . The terrain is rugged and there are rocky ridges, hills and open valleys with lakes and pools. A tow-day extension package is avilable from Agra commencing from day 4 of the Golden Triangle tour .
Day 4 : Transfer from Agra to Ranthambore by road . Check-in to the Taj Forest Lodge .In the afternoon you visit the park , a wildlife sanctury with tigers that can be spotted during the day . Other animals include sambar , chital, boar, gazelle, monitor lizards, leopard, hyena, nilgai and deer which congreate near the lakes and pools . Overnight at the Lodge .(B)
Day 5 : After breakfast, take a trip to the Park and see the colourful bird life .Birds include jacanas, coloured storks, black storks, white-necked storks,pea-fowls which are found in abundance, and other birds such as the crested serpent eagle, owl, quail, partrdge and fowl.The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at the Lodge .(B)
Day 6 : Depart by road for Jaipur . Continue itinerary as per the Golden Triangle tour .
